Van the Radio Man
Crossroads with Van is designed to try to give the public a view from the Christian perspective. We started this program because we believe that both religion and politics are important and relevant in todays society. We also believe that both of these organizations have mislead the American public in the past and will again. They seem to be more concerned about positions or income than in telling the truth or admitting when they've either made a mistake or misled all of us.
Van has been politically active to one degree or another since the age of 9 when he campaigned for the Eisenhower/Nixon ticket. When Van started voting, he was a registered democrat and a union member. He only voted for one in a primary in 68 and then voted for Nixon in the general election. Van became a Christian in 1975 after being raised in a Christian home. He did spend his time as the prodigal son until then. After accepting Christ, he continued in the field of food sales, marketing, distribution, and product development. He has also opened several different Christian ministries such as; a halfway house, a coffee house, a skid row ministry, a Hollywood Blvd. outreach ministry, a Mexico outreach ministry, and has led many Bible studies. Van speaks regularly at special engagements. It was at one of these events that he was asked by a man to go on the radio. In 2003 Van did his first radio show in California. He has also done shows in Idaho, Florida and Arizona. The show has changed from a strict Bible Study program with comments to a political and religious issues to a program that also includes call in statements and/or questions from our listeners.
Van has been asked to run for office before, but believed that his outreach work and political activity were enough. In 2012, Van and Jean, after a lot of thought and prayer, decided to come out of retirement to be the Christian Constitutional Conservative Republican candidate, where compromising the Constitution and Our Freedom isn't acceptable, we need to learn how to negotiate issues on spending bills etc., but never on Our Rights. We enjoyed the time we spent with all the Voters in AZ and now have returned to our activities prior to the Campaign for US Senate.
Van is doing interviews with the candidates for all offices in the state of Arizona and people who have information on the topics that are important to our constiutional republic. He has guests from both sides of the fence and lets his listeners decide where to stand.
